Lee Westwood

Age: 39
From: England

Westwood only took up golf at the age of 13 after his grandparents bought him a half set of clubs, but entered Ryder Cup folklore by going unbeaten in 10 matches between 2006 and 2010. He won the 2000 European Order of Merit and two years ago, for a period of 22 weeks, he became the World No 1 golfer, becoming the first Briton to hold the title since Nick Faldo in 1994. Born in Nottinghamshire, Lee is a loyal fan of Nottingham Forest FC and spends his time away from the fairways enjoying football, snooker, cars and movies. He holds an honorary degree from Nottingham Trent University, who named their sports hall after him.
