Ryder Cup 2006 - The K Club Ireland

In 2006, Canali began a proud and illustrious relationship with the European Ryder Cup Team, forging a partnership that has seen the Captain, Vice-Captains, players and officials wearing the luxury Italian menswear label for all their formal commitments and off-course duties during the event. 

Working closely with Captain Ian Woosnam, the Milan-based atelier provided pieces from the Spring / Summer 2006 collection – including chocolate brown suede jackets and pale grey marl half-zip sweaters as travel outfits for the Team to wear as they arrived in Dublin for the matches at the K Club. Attending the Opening Ceremony, we saw the Team clad in mint green sports jackets over black open-necked shirts, and at the Closing Ceremony, they were dressed in ‘bamboo pink’ jackets with white turtleneck tops.

For the Gala Dinner, the Team adopted a bold interpretation of the classic ‘black tie’ dress code, opting for white tuxedo jackets teamed with red satin bow ties and handkerchiefs.

Established in 1934, the family-owned business produces all its garments in Italy, many of them tailored and individually finished by hand.
